    中医称糖尿病为“消渴证”。消渴病是指以烦渴引饮、消谷善饥、小便频数、形体消瘦为特征的疾病。其病因与禀赋不足饮食失节、情志换调。肾精亏损有关。阴虚燥热为其主要病机，病位主要涉及肺、脾、肾三脏，水液代谢紊乱是消渴病的物质基础。
